Layla Claire’s 2017-18 season highlights Händel

An important role debut, Layla will book-end her season in the title role of Händel’s Alcina with the Bolshoi Theatre (October 18-26, 2017 & March 21-27, 2018) in a production directed by Katie Mitchell and conducted by Andrea Marcon.  She will reprise this role at the International Händel Festival in Karlsruhe early in the New Year (February 18-27, 2018) in a production directed by James Darrah and conducted by Andreas Spering.  The rest of her season is peppered with more Händel and Mozart, including her Colorado Symphony and and another major symphony debut TBA soon in Händel Messiah and a concert performance of Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Bamberger Symphony.   For full details, please visit Layla’s 2017-18 calendar.

Ms. Claire’s first foray into the operas of Händel happened in 2016, singing the role of Tusnelda in Arminio with Armonia Atenea conducted by George Petrou (International Händel Festival in Karlsruhe); the project was captured and released commercially by Decca Classics.
